Chelsea have announced that they have agreed a fee with Real Madrid for the protracted signing of Eden Hazard.
The deal is believed to be worth £88million and that rise to £130m with add-ons, and is subject to Hazard passing his medical and signing a contract with Real.
The 28-year-old will become Zinedine Zidane’s third major acquisition of the summer, following the deals for Eder Militao and Luka Jovic from Porto and Eintracht Frankfurt respectively.
Hazard had been linked with a move to Real Madrid for a number of months after rejecting the offer of a contract extension at Stamford Bridge and Chelsea have decided to cash in now rather than risk losing him on a free next summer.
There had been reports on Wednesday morning that there had been a breakdown in talks between the two clubs after Real Madrid chief executive Jose Angel Sanchez returned to the Spanish capital from London without securing a deal.
